Terms of sale

These apply only once you decide to buy. Up to that point the trial terms govern, and nothing here obliges you to reach this page.

1. When these apply

A contract of sale is formed when you tell us you want to keep an item and we confirm your payment. Until then, only the trial terms apply.

The seller is Renticy Limited, trading as trialcove.com, company number 15587682, registered at Stafford Education & Enterprise Park, Weston Road, Stafford, ST18 0BF, United Kingdom.

2. Price and payment

The price is the price shown for the grade you selected, in pounds sterling and including VAT where it applies.

The trial fee and the deposit you paid at the start are both credited against the price, so you pay only the balance. We will show you that figure before you confirm.

Where payment options are offered, they are provided by a third-party provider under their own agreement with you, and their terms will be shown before you choose one.

3. Title and risk

The item is already in your possession, so risk sits with you from delivery under the trial terms. Ownership passes to you when we receive payment in full.

4. Quality and your rights

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 everything sold through trialcove must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. Those rights apply to refurbished and pre-used items exactly as they do to new ones.

Satisfactory quality is judged against the grade described, not against a brand new example. Wear we disclosed is not a fault; a defect we did not disclose is.

If a fault appears within 30 days you can reject the item for a full refund. After that, you can ask for repair or replacement, and a price reduction or refund if that fails. See returns and refunds.

5. Grades

Brand new items are sealed and unused. Refurbished items have been tested and repaired where needed. Pre-used items are working but show wear, which we describe on the listing.

How we grade everything sets out what each grade means and what has been checked.

6. Guarantees

Brand new items carry the manufacturer’s warranty in the usual way. Refurbished items carry a twelve-month guarantee from us against functional failure. Pre-used items carry a three-month guarantee from us on the same basis.

A guarantee is in addition to your legal rights and never replaces them.

7. Cancelling a purchase

The statutory 14-day right to cancel runs from delivery of the goods. Because a purchase here follows a four-week trial, that period will normally have passed by the time you buy, so you have already had considerably longer than 14 days with the item.

Your rights in respect of faulty or misdescribed goods are unaffected and continue well beyond the purchase.

8. Liability

Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Subject to that, we are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was made.

9. Law

Governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your own courts. See making a complaint if something goes wrong.
